This bright and inviting hilltop home is just a few minutes from central Woodstock and features spectacular mountain and valley views both indoors and out — perfect for a late fall or early winter getaway.
Known as Innisfree, this special spot takes its name from “The Lake Isle of Innisfree” by W.B. Yeats, chosen for its connotations of peaceful solitude and connection to nature.
Innisfree makes a cozy home base for exploring Woodstock in all its holiday charm. Browse the boutiques and shops along Central Street in the village center and enjoy meals at the many wonderful restaurants in town and throughout the surrounding area.
GREAT ROOM
The heart of Innisfree is the great room, with floor-to-ceiling windows framing picturesque views.
Two cozy seating areas provide plenty of space to connect with loved ones, watch a movie, or simply take in the scenery as you warm yourself by the wood burning stove after a day exploring the area.
Between Thanksgiving and New Years, a Christmas tree and seasonal decor bring added holiday cheer.
We provide games, puzzles, and books for you to enjoy, plus a workspace (if you must). There is also a CD player with a large selection of 90s music, or take your sense of nostalgia further back in time with our record collection. The stereo is Bluetooth enabled for those who prefer more modern musical amenities.
If you need an extra sleeping space, there is a sofa bed with a quilted topper for comfort.
KITCHEN
Compact yet fully equipped, the kitchen provides everything you need to prepare your very own farm-to-table meal, with plenty of cookware and pantry essentials to get you started.
DINING AREAS
Start your mornings in the breakfast nook, with easy access to coffee refills.
Gather around the expansive dining table for festive home cooked meals.
BEDROOMS
Both bedrooms are on the main level and feature queen beds.
We also provide a twin air mattress and a Pack N Play for little ones.
BATHROOMS
There are 2 full bathrooms: one on the lower level and another on the main level, next to the bedrooms. There is also a powder room off of the great room.
OUTDOOR LIVING
Bundle up and enjoy your morning coffee in the rocking chairs on the elevated deck, for a moment of quiet reflection.
On milder days, fire up the grill and dine al fresco at the picnic table on the platform deck.
At the end of the day, gather around the in-ground fire pit for 'smores and campfire games.

Getting around
The last 2 miles of your drive to Innisfree are on a dirt road on a steep approach, and the driveway is also on an incline. We strongly recommend a vehicle with 4WD or AWD with all-season or snow tires for all visitors between November and April.

If there were more stars than 5 I would have chosen that! Kate's place was even better than the pictures, and more expansive. At times, homes aren't as roomy in person but this was even more spaced out and cozier than expected. Lovingly curated with great attention to detail. The views cannot be overstated! Perfect for late fall leaf viewing. The kitchen was extremely well stocked, which I appreciated as someone who loves to cook! The gift basket of coffee, pancake mix, syrup etc. was a nice touch. Instructions were clear and sent well ahead of time. Location was perfect; peaceful and beautiful with a short drive to local markets etc. Lots to do in Woodstock but this was the perfect home for our down time and cozy nights in.

we enjoyed your mountaintop retreat. the highlight for Cindy and i was waking up at 3am to view spectacular stars and planets in the sky. you thought of everything from a charcoal grill, and everything we needed for grilling and dining. the bed was comfortable . i found a good work space. great areas in your house for Cindy and i to read books. the Woodstock Farmer's Market had a wonderful selection of food. we shopped at the market four times! great aerobic hiking nearby. we hiked at three different locations. great dining at the Red Rooster and RIchardson's Tavern. if we return to Vermont we would stay at your mountaintop retreat again. Thank you for a great , relaxing vacation! Pat and Cindy

We had a very nice time. Location is outstanding. Home is very comfortable. Very private with beautiful views of the green mountains. Very close to Woodstock for eating and walking. National park tour was really good and the cheddar cheese we bought at shelburne farms is the best we ever had. Great vacation for us.

I can't recommend a stay at Innisfree enough. The house and grounds are gorgeous with a spectacular view of the mountains. The setting is quiet and peaceful surrounded by forest and wildflower fields. The house itself if caringly decorated and feels like a home away from home. You are only about 10 to 15 minutes drive away from downtown Woodstock and about thirty minutes away from Queeche, VT making the location perfect for day trips in the area.

we were delighted with our stay and the house; the views and privacy were remarkable, while we were very close to town. The house was immaculate, welcoming and so well equipped in everything one may require, that we felt quite at home. We would recommend this lovely home without hesitation.
