The location offers privacy and seclusion, but is just 20 minutes from shopping and dining in the charming village of Woodstock, with easy access to Killington and Okemo (both are about 40 minutes away).
Clean lines, tasteful decor, and calming neutral tones set the stage for a vacation home that feels both elegant and restful — the perfect place for families and groups to connect and unwind.
KITCHEN + DINING: Our fully stocked kitchen features modern appliances, pantry essentials, and everything you need to prepare a gourmet meal. Four counter seats make it easy to grab a quick bite or keep the chef company with a glass of wine.
Gather for meals at the dining table, which seats eight and is surrounded by windows overlooking the deck and gardens.
LIVING ROOM
Relax on the leather sectional for movie nights, board games, or simply chat and catch up with friends and family. In the cooler months, the pellet stove adds cozy warmth and ambiance.
BEDROOMS + BATHROOMS
Silver Fern House sleeps 8 guests across 4 bedrooms on three levels, each with a queen bed.
Bedrooms 1+ 2 are upstairs, bedroom 3 is on the ground floor, and bedroom 4 is in the basement.
Bedroom 1: Spacious and light-filled, with high ceilings, abundant windows, and a semi-private en suite bathroom.
Bedroom 2: Cozy and charming with a cottage-core vibe; shares a Jack-and-Jill bathroom with Bedroom 1, which can be accessed from the hall.
Bedroom 3: This room is decorated in soothing natural tones with views of the yard. A full bathroom sits just across the hall.
Bedroom 4: Accented with vintage sleds and snowshoes for a touch of Vermont nostalgia, this room invites sweet dreams of snow. Full bath across the hall.
HOME THEATER
Your own private cinema awaits — complete with a massive screen, surround sound, and even a popcorn maker. Settle into two recliners, an armchair, and oversized beanbags for the ultimate movie-night experience.
SPEAKEASY
For a night out without leaving home, head to the speakeasy above the garage. This hidden spot features a karaoke machine, drum set, bar seating, and two comfy couches. (Note: quiet hours are 9pm-8am)
OUTDOOR SPACES
The property is beautifully landscaped and completely private, with seasonal blooms, an apple orchard, and a pick-your-own vegetable garden in summer.
Spend fall nights around the in ground fire pit, soak under the stars in the hot tub, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings as you grill dinner on the deck.
Please note that once winter weather hits, the fire pit will be inaccessible due to snow cover.

Outdoor enthusiasts will love the endless options nearby — from hiking trails, swimming holes, and scenic bike routes to skiing at Killington and Okemo (both under an hour away).
In autumn, the hillsides come alive with Vermont’s famous foliage, while winter brings postcard-perfect snow days.
Despite the peaceful setting, you’re never far from essentials: farm stands, local markets, and general stores are a short drive away. Whether you’re here for a quiet country escape or as a base to explore quintessential Vermont towns, Silver Fern House is the perfect home base for your adventures.
Getting around
Winter visitors require a vehicle with AWD/4WD and either all season or snow tires. The last 1/4 mile of your drive and the driveway are on a steep approach on an unpaved road. While they are plowed and sanded as needed, guests without appropriate vehicles have had difficulty reaching the house. Please get in touch prior to booking if you have any questions or concerns.

This house is a beautiful and well-maintained place, thoughtfully stocked with amenities. I stayed here during Christmas break with my kids and parents. The guide provided us with all the necessary information about the house and the surrounding area. We enjoyed the puzzles and games provided and made popcorn while watching movies in the movie room. The hot tub was a delightful treat, and there’s even a great sledding hill for the kids out back. The kitchen is well-stocked for cooking and cleaning up afterward. The communication was excellent, with thoughtful check ins and instructions on how to handle the weather. When we encountered an unfortunate weather related event, the response was prompt and effective, both over the phone and in person. We would definitely stay here again!

The Silver Fern House was an absolutely beautiful stay, and exactly what we were looking for in a relaxing Vermont winter weekend escape. It was very clear how much thought had been put into the design of the house. The rooms were beautifully decorated and very comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked with quality cooking tools, and all the common spaces were perfect for any activities you may want to do inside. We were a group of four friends, but you could easily scale up, the house had plenty of space! Kate and co were very responsive and the guide for the house was very detailed and useful! This was one of my favorite airbnbs I’ve stayed at and we’re already trying to plan our next trip! We did have a friend with only front wheel drive who couldn’t get up the hill to the house in the snow, so definitely pay attention to the listing recommendations!
