The location offers privacy and seclusion, but is just 20 minutes from shopping and dining in the charming village of Woodstock to the northwest and Hanover, NH (Dartmouth) to the northeast.
KITCHEN + DINING: Our fully stocked kitchen features modern appliances, pantry essentials, and everything you need to prepare a gourmet meal.
Gather for meals at the dining table, which seats six and is surrounded by windows overlooking the deck and gardens. Four counter seats make it easy to grab a quick bite or keep the chef company with a glass of wine.
LIVING ROOM: Relax on the leather sectional for movie nights, board games, or simply chat and catch up with friends and family. In the cooler months, the pellet stove adds cozy warmth and ambiance.
BEDROOMS + BATHROOMS: Silver Fern House sleeps 8 guests across 4 bedrooms on three levels, each with a queen bed.
Bedrooms 1+ 2 are upstairs, bedroom 3 is on the ground floor, and bedroom 4 is in the basement.
Bedroom 1: Spacious and light-filled, with high ceilings, abundant windows, and a semi-private en suite bathroom.
Bedroom 2: Cozy and charming with a cottage-core vibe; shares a Jack-and-Jill bathroom with Bedroom 1, which can be accessed from the hall.
Bedroom 3: This room is decorated in soothing natural tones with views of the yard. A full bathroom sits just across the hall.
Bedroom 4: Accented with vintage sleds and snowshoes for a touch of Vermont nostalgia, this room invites sweet dreams of snow. Full bath across the hall.
HOME THEATER: Your own private cinema awaits — complete with a massive screen, surround sound, and even a popcorn maker. Settle into two recliners, an armchair, and oversized beanbags for the ultimate movie-night experience.
SPEAKEASY: For a night out without leaving home, head to the speakeasy above the garage. This hidden spot features a karaoke machine, drum set, bar seating, and two comfy couches.
OUTDOOR SPACES: Fire up the new gas grill on the elevated deck with bench seating for 6–8, soak under the stars in the hot tub, or gather around the fire pit for s’mores and campfire games.
The property is beautifully landscaped and completely private, with seasonal blooms, an apple orchard, and a pick-your-own vegetable garden in summer. Autumn provides a picturesque backdrop of colorful leaves for time outside in the crisp cool air. When winter brings a blanket of snow, enjoy sledding and snow shoeing right in the backyard — we provide both!

This house is a beautiful and well-maintained place, thoughtfully stocked with amenities. I stayed here during Christmas break with my kids and parents. The guide provided us with all the necessary information about the house and the surrounding area. We enjoyed the puzzles and games provided and made popcorn while watching movies in the movie room. The hot tub was a delightful treat, and there’s even a great sledding hill for the kids out back. The kitchen is well-stocked for cooking and cleaning up afterward. The communication was excellent, with thoughtful check ins and instructions on how to handle the weather. When we encountered an unfortunate weather related event, the response was prompt and effective, both over the phone and in person. We would definitely stay here again!

The Silver Fern House was an absolutely beautiful stay, and exactly what we were looking for in a relaxing Vermont winter weekend escape. It was very clear how much thought had been put into the design of the house. The rooms were beautifully decorated and very comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked with quality cooking tools, and all the common spaces were perfect for any activities you may want to do inside. We were a group of four friends, but you could easily scale up, the house had plenty of space! Kate and co were very responsive and the guide for the house was very detailed and useful! This was one of my favorite airbnbs I’ve stayed at and we’re already trying to plan our next trip! We did have a friend with only front wheel drive who couldn’t get up the hill to the house in the snow, so definitely pay attention to the listing recommendations!
